SPRING; SOME TUNES!

Do you feel that NYC? The warm weather we were anxiously waiting for is finally here. Let's hope it doesn't disappear for the 2 months between now and official summer. The season for cut off shorts, v-necks, and vans is here. I have some perfect tracks to get it started.

Digit Dealer

Digit Dealer. The Dance Rock duo, Austin Robey and Arvind Dilawar, are releasing their album this friday. It is Titled, French Letter. The album is in a league of its own, mixing Guitar and bass strings with, synths and keyboards. The combination makes it almost impossible not to move as the enticing sound hits the ears. The intense rants delivered by Austin and other guests such as, Aileen Olmedo, allow the album to be a fun, lyrical, listen as well. They're having a album release party this friday at, The Glass Door, 98 Moore st Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY(use Hopstop.com for directions). There will be several live performances from Digit Dealer, along with other acts. I've posted a couple tracks below along with a link for the release party details. Download and listen.

Mikey Mic!

Mikey Mic has fire! Not literally, but figuratively. I heard this remix of Pharoahe Monche's "Simon Says" and It's bangin'.  It has an awesome transition from the Original to the bass thumping remix. I love it. Thanks to Spread The Noise I have the tracks for readers to download. The first is a Rock edit and the second is the regular remix. Download and enjoy.

The New Friday Night?

There has been a turn for the better. "TMJ" has found a bar to host a local Queens party on friday nights, "DANCE LIFE FRIDAYS". FACE Bar is predominantly patronized by middle aged Asian men, who want to drink their pay-check away or young asian girls, that love karaoke. But as of recently, if you're not already in L.E.S or Brooklyn, this is a cool place to hang out. There are no REAL drink specials yet, but you can easily sneak 12oz or 22oz into the bar. It has a fairly, mediocre sized dance-floor, chairs and tables along the wall and also a nook that houses a couch, a table, and small table stools. If it gets too
hot inside, there is an outside area where you can discreetly smoke a cigarette. The house DJs are MIKA 5000 and HIRO. They'll be the ones bumping your favorite Electro, Reggae and Hip-hop tunes you want to dance to, along with some new shit you probably have not heard before. Get ready for some epic fridays, sorry, I mean, DANCE LIFE FRIDAYS.

BLOODY AUGUST

This is the month of The Bloody Beetroots. On August 25th, the italian electro/house DJ duo are releasing their first LP "Romborama" on Dimmak Records. Oh the excitment!(I have it already). For those who are familiar with their work, expect more of the goods on this LP. It will contain 21 tracks, including previously released singles, "Cornelius" and "Warp 1.9" feat. Steve Aoki. This album will also feature, The Cool Kids and Lisa Kekuala. For those unfamiliar with their music, The Bloody Beetroots blend menacing synths, with the heart pounding bass we all want at our dance parties. Watch their video for "Cornelius":
