Electric Tickle Machine

Electric Tickle Machine is a band hailing from New York. They catergorize themselves as Psychedelic/Garage/Pop. I realize their name is a bit eccentric, but I like their sound and they're worth listening to. I don't have much to say in this post. This is a music blog, just listen to the fucking MUSIC.

Sunday proceeding 4 nights of boozing

I woke up this morning, NO HANGOVER, what a relief. The past four nights has been filled with random get togethers, drinking and regrets. I need some fucking soothing music after all that. Beirut is perfect. Their music provides a variety of instruments along with the eclectic voice of the lead singer, Zach Condon. I just  think this band is cool enough to share, even though I know some of my friends have already heard of them. Their music won't be for everyone, but listen with an open mind and leave comments.

Bass Debauchery

You know the anxiety you feel during the first 50 seconds of an Electro beat, leading to the initial bass pounding drop? Everyone goes nuts after that, ready to pump fists and tear up the dance floor. Gtronic, a Belgium DJ/Producer, released his Iron Man EP on December 17th (it's Available on Beatport) and Spread The Noise has sent me some samples to share with readers. Gtronic doesn't disappoint, delivering thumpers for the dance floor. The dark, twisting tones allow you to imagine the sweaty debauchery that would be happening in any party. I've posted Downloadable tracks from Gtronic along with some remixes. Let me know what you think. Download and Enjoy.

Not High Enough

It's been over a week without a post on this site. Well, in my defense, last week was all about college finals. I was studying hard and trying to pass my classes, you know how it is. But now that I am back in action, I have several posts to make in order to make up for lost time. Spread The Noise has sent me  several tracks to post. The first of which, is an amazing remix of an old school song. Mikey Mic, who is obviously a man to be reckoned with, did a remix of Ain't no Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammy Tarrell. The chorus is chopped up and placed over a stunning bass pounding, electro beat. Thanks Mikey Mic and Spread The Noise.

WOLVES

Remember AquaForce, The Hip-Hop group from New Orleans? (If you don't, check previous posts for their other singles). They're releasing their Mixtape, Burgundy, this weekend. I've listened to their new single titled, Wolves and it is a well put together, piece of work. Who am I kidding? That shit is hott. The beat has a heaving intro with a well incorporated sample of a females voice. Mid-track there's also a hilarious sample from a cartoon shown on Adult Swim. These dudes are seriously "Wolves" and they know it. I've posted a link to download their single, Wolves. Download, Listen, and Enjoy. Leave comments and let me know what you think.

Bitches Ain't Shit

Ever wonder what Dr. Dre's "Bitches Ain't Shit" would sound like as a ballad? Well Singer/Song-writer Ben Folds satirically covers Dr. Dre's classic. Give it a listen. You may like it, you may laugh or for some strange reason, break down and cry.

LAZRtag oooh gosh SEEEX!!!

LAZRfuckingtag everyone!

lazrtag Pictures, Images and Photos

Ladies and Gents what is wrong with these dudes, its like everything they remix is fucking gold, What is this? Luvtek and Addison, the two boys from LA each have on their own have a killer ass discography but, when they come together and play its really something else. Giving Electro a whole different flavor. Their shit, makes listening to Crystal Castles sound less like your playing a game boy. You can definitely hear their influences from the Dirty House sound that Justice produces and even Dafts style (Detonate). They are definitely no Justice or Daft Punk but they are sure as fucking shit right up there with them.

Ladies and Gents If you haven't heard them yet, I strongly advise you to look up all you can about LAZRtag because once they really hit mainstream, and they will soon, the music world is in for a make over

Here be the first on your block who knew about them before they have a video on MTGAY

The Generationals

Their music is resonant of their name. The Generationals are one band that impeccably manifests and borrows, influences from various generations of music ranging from the 50s to present. When I initially heard their song titled, When they fight, they fight, I actually thought It wasn't from this era. But, contrarily, The Generationals formed in 2008. This band's eclectic style is one to pay regard. I've got some sample tracks, Download and listen below.

When They Fight, They Fight - The Generationals
Angry Charlie - The Generationals

Red Wire Black Wire

This band from New York possesses a unique way of story telling, which is complemented by their electro-rock instrumentals. I had to listen to their songs a couple times before I realized, these guys are really worth sharing. Download, Listen and tell me what you think.

Crash Overdrive

Crash Overdrive is a U.S. Electro Producer that was introduced to me by Spread The Noise. He's Releasing his new EP, Retake The Streets, which is available on iTunes. I was able to listen to an EP teaser and also a sample of a Remix he did for Kaskade. They're both very good, consisting of the typical Electro sound you would expect today; Packed with rhythmic pulsations and rattling bass. I have the Teaser and the Sample Remix available to download below, along with a link to purchase the EP from iTunes. Download and listen.

Digit Dealer

Digit Dealer. The Dance Rock duo, Austin Robey and Arvind Dilawar, are releasing their album this friday. It is Titled, French Letter. The album is in a league of its own, mixing Guitar and bass strings with, synths and keyboards. The combination makes it almost impossible not to move as the enticing sound hits the ears. The intense rants delivered by Austin and other guests such as, Aileen Olmedo, allow the album to be a fun, lyrical, listen as well. They're having a album release party this friday at, The Glass Door, 98 Moore st Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY(use Hopstop.com for directions). There will be several live performances from Digit Dealer, along with other acts. I've posted a couple tracks below along with a link for the release party details. Download and listen.

AQUAFORCE

Holy shit. What a surprise. I'm posting Hip-Hop? There's a reason it has taken this long. I've been patiently waiting for Artists and songs worthy enough to post. That void has finally been filled by an upcoming group; AQUAFORCE. You're probably wondering who they are, you've never heard of them. Well, AQUAFORCE is hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana and they're obviously ready to take Hip-Hop back. The group is comprised of, Future, Malachi, CHRLS XVR and DS@STR. Their sound is a blend of Jazz, old school Hip-Hop and a bit of Soul; Reminiscent of the sound brought to us in the early 90s by groups like, 'A Tribe Called Quest', 'Leaders of the New School' and 'Lost Boys'. I'm excited to finally hear some music by people who understand the meaning of Hip-Hop and where it should be. They're sure to gain a large following if they stay true and continue to serve music what it needs. Download and listen.

Phrazes For the Young

Julian Casablancas, of 'The Strokes', solo album, Phrazes for the Young, was released today. I've listened to a couple of tracks from the album and quite frankly, It's not what I expected. I wanted to hear the typical Strokes, type vibe. But, I was disappointed. Casablancas is singing over Synthesizers and Keyboards, what a let down. The songs sound more like The Klaxons if anything else. He also Performed on the tonight show last week, which you can find on Hulu.com, but don't base any judgment from it though. What was the point of a solo album? The music from The Strokes seems to be much better. I'll listen to his whole album anyway because I love The Strokes, but this won't be one of my favorites.

(I had to take the tracks down, Sorry)

Royal Bangs

Royal Bangs is an indie Rock band hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee. They released their debut LP, We Breed Champions, last fall. But this band obviously doesn't waste any time, they have released their follow up album, Let It Beep, back in September of this year. Royal Bangs has an exhilarating garage band sound, meekly blended with the competency of Indie music. I've listen to Let It Beep and honestly it's an awesome album. I'll probably be listening to it on loop for the next week or so.

Poison Control - Royal Bangs
War Bells - Royal Bangs

Boy & Bear

Last night, I was doing some late night, music downloads and I came across a band with an awesome sound; Boy & Bear. They're a band from Sydney, Australia and their single is titled 'Mexican Mavis'. Boy & Bear is comprised of, Dave Hosking (lead vocals/guitars), Killian Gavin (vocals/guitars), Tim Hart (drums/vocals/guitars), Jake Tarasenko (bass). These four dudes have shit going for them if the rest of their songs sound this way. Download their single below.

Contra

This really is not breaking news. Im actually extremely late with this news. Vampire Weekend will be releasing their sophomore album January 12th, 2010. We all know who Vampire Weekend is, don't we? They're an Indie band from New York; Comprised of Ezra Koenig,Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson, and Chris Baio. Their style is described as an "Upper west side soweto" and they draw inspiration from African popular music and Western classical music. Vampire Weekend's eponymous debut album received moderate success with singles such as, A-Punk and Oxford comma. Judging by the sound of the first two singles from their upcoming album titled Contra, fans will be satisfied as they have not strayed from their signature sound or lyrics. I've posted their first two singles below, have a listen.

My Ten Queries of the Week

1) Why is there a Jehovah's Witness or religious zealot posted at almost every train station in queens? Are they going to brain wash the minds of every person that passes, with literature containing biblical connotations and soothing, zionist artwork?---Scary.

2) Why has there been the same bums on my corner for 15 years? What is so appealing about a street corner? No. Sweeping does not compensate for you dirty fucks sitting there everyday; Rain, shine, sleet or snow.

3) Who the fuck is impregnating the mexican women of Corona, Queens? Ew.

4) Why are "Gangsters" and 4XL T-shirts still in existence? Isn't this 2009?-Maybe they didn't get the memo. Calendars probably aren't part of thug life.

5) Why do Black people always have to glamorize things that are already cool and fuck it up?--Stop Fucking Shit Up!

6) Should it be possible that I can distinguish a Colombian by a funny hair cut and a bracelet?

7) Why are some people still dwelling on the fact that SKINNY men wear skinny jeans? In the 80s straight men dressed like women, Literally.--Get over it.

8) Hype Beasts are near extinction and annoying as ever.

9) If you have Facebook, Why do you need Twitter? Isn't It the same concept?

10) Why don't Asians understand that the yellow tape on the back door of the bus, is to open the door, not for a stop request?

"Don't blame society, blame yo' momma."

What would it take to tame a Ghetto chick?...

You know the saying, "You can take the girl out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the girl." Is that just an excuse to act belligerent?? Is that just an excuse to talk with a dirty mouth?? Is that just an excuse to hide your weakness ?? I can go on but I'm sure you're intelligent enough to come up with excuses.

You can't blame "the ghetto" for your upbringings. If anything, blame your PARENTS. The environment is neither to blame. I am a firm believer that the core to your behavior is due to how your parents raised you. So, you're 16 with two babies, What did your mother do? or should I say, what DIDN'T your mother do. So, you're 18 and you're locked up for possession of illegal narcotics or a weapon, What DIDN'T your mother do?...

It all comes down to this, if you have parents who could careless who you hang out with, where you are most of the time, etc., then expect the least. Girls who get pregnant at a young age, who drop out of school, who act obnoxious; always wanting to fight, your mother & father taught you wrong. And the same applies to guys.

Just another day in the office! =o)

Unlikely match-up.

Weezer and Lil' Wayne have recorded a song together? and The song was produced by Jermaine Dupri? What the Fuck happened!?
Besides the similarity in stage names, there is no reason Weezer and Lil' Wayne, should be on the same song. I listened to the song and it's atrocious. It is titled "Can't stop partying" and it sounds like the words of Jermaine Dupri sung by Rivers Cuomo. What does Weezer have to do with Patron and Goose? Nothing. Isn't alcohol, clubbing, girls and jewels part of the hip-hop life-style. But, apparently Weezer is singing about it and they threw Lil' Wayne on the track. Im not sure where music is going, but when respected bands start doing shit like this, It becomes ambiguous.

Introducing...

Hello Readers! The name's Linda Stephanie, you can catch me on Twitter (twitter.com/cherchezlamoi) and I am here to serve you in all shapes and colors.

So, I work at an Optical store and when you're working at retail you get the opportunity to come across A LOT of people that vary, being: strange, sometimes uplifting, comical, deranged, misunderstood, lonely, poor, rich, disrespectful, ect. Well, anyway, yesterday (Thursday) an elderly man came in and he said his hello and all that good stuff. I remembered him from when he came in Tuesday to get his eyes checked. Now, he had a condition in his right eye that caused his cornea (the iris of the eye) to be completely covered by this white spot, as if it almost looked like an eyeball with no color. It was just white and it was like that kind of thing where, you can't help but to stare, you know? Okay so, he walks in and we're chatting, bla bla, and he goes "hey sweety, I've been having a hard time putting this color contact in, so can you do it for me?". I will not lie, I hesitated, I panicked, I almost gagged, I was creeped out, for the simple fact that....I WAS GOING TO HAVE A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH THE GHOSTEYE!!!!!!! I had to man up and just deal with it .........

I sat him down and just tried to not gag or even squeal and as I put the color contact on my fingertip, I opened his eye and there it was, a galaxy of wonders. His eye looked like someone injected butter into his iris and it was all sorts of colors. (Ew) ok ok, so I managed to put it in for him (no homo lol) and he was so grateful and I felt good about it because I helped someone and there's nothing greater than that feeling of "YES! I DID IT!".

In conclusion to my close encounter with the butter eye, it doesn't matter what you look like and who it is, as long as your able to reach out and lend a helping hand, it makes it worth the fear. Remember guys, check your eyes daily and NEVER!!! EVER!!! EVER!! sleep with your contacts on. Thanks for reading!!!!!

Udy?

In the midst of Thursday night homework, I received an email from Spreadthenoise.com. They're asking me to post Remix's by the, until recently, unknown, UDY. Udy is an Electro/House producer from the UK (The United Kingdom for the retards). I listened to the 3 tracks that were sent and personally, they are average. Gimme Some Lovin'

It has been a couple weeks since I've posted some good tracks for readers to download. Therefore I've posted four. Two of them are fairly new downloads, Heads Will Roll (A-trak Remix) and Lizstomania (Alex Metric Remix). The other two are oldies that I favor. Uptight by Stevie Wonder (he was a genius in his prime) and Gimme Some Lovin' by Spencer Davis. So, Download and enjoy, I wouldn't post these songs if they weren't good.

WTF, Really?

Shelves must be made out of steel in the clothing stores of France. Yesterday at god damn A&F, a French senior citizen decided it would be ideal to scale several shelves of clothing to reach the very top. These shelves are fairly thick pieces of wood held up by two, small, cylindrical pieces of metal on each side. So of course, as soon as this woman distributes her weight on the first shelf, the whole thing collapses. "BANG!" Oh shit! There's a shoot out in the fitting room! But, no. I turn around to find clothes on the floor, along with the bottom shelf. I rush over to the idiotic scene, "Can I help you?" The old woman finally gets down. "XXL?" I hastily check for the size. "No XXL, sorry." She turns to what seems to be her family and they proceed to bark at each other in some french gibberish. I stood there and watched them intently, hoping they would exit at any moment. The moment finally came. A younger woman from the group turned as they marched away, "Merci Beaucoup." I smile, then immediately turn around in-order to roll my eyes and attend to the mess on the floor. These foreigners are out of control. Maybe it's the pounding music or the constant aroma of "Fierce" cologne being pumped through the ventilation. They're like clamorous baboons trying to find shelter. A&F doesn't pay me enough.

Where the fuck have I been? Its been almost 2 weeks without a new post. Well, I've been extremely busy. I work at the god forsaken Abercrombie and Fitch and I'm also going to school. I haven't been rigorously searching for new, exciting, music to post. Or looking for a topic interesting enough to post.

Last night was cool. A couple of friends and I, ventured out to brooklyn to see my boy Arv perform with his band. We were Beyond late, so we caught the last 5 minutes of his set. I enjoyed the little time we spent there, mostly because I met a really cute girl. But, Enough about me. During the past week, I became aware, the Swine flu shot is MANDATORY in the United States. When has a Inoculation ever been mandatory nationwide? besides for the few shots that are required when entering school. The first word that comes to my mind is, Conspiracy. I find it hard to trust our government in terms of this subject. There must be ulterior motives. At this Point there is no definitive answer, so we just have to sit and wait until 2/3 of humans become zombies. WE'LL BE FIGHTING FOR OUR LIVES!

Fear and Loathing

I've seen the movie at least four times. But now I'm finally getting to read the book, thanks to my friend Arv. Hunter S. Thompson's account of his drug-fueled quest to find the american dream, in Las Vegas. It's just so much more vivid in words. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, do so. Hopefully I'll finish it in a couple of days.

La Roux

I cant get enough of the remixes to La Roux's singles. La Roux is an Electro-pop duo from comprised of, singer, Elly Jackson and Producer/Composer, Ben Langmaid. Elly has an infectious voice, that when added to a remix by DatA or The Twelves, it just creates complete harmony.
La Roux-In for the kill (The Twelves Remix)
La Roux-Im not your toy (DatA Remix)

Stupid VMAs

The 2009 MTV VMAs, What a scripted joke. A drunken Kanye West storms the stage to refute the winner of "Best Female Video", only to apologize the next day. Who does that? I don't understand celebrities today, they're all taking the same drugs. The crazy bitch AKA Lady GaGa went through constant costume changes. First arriving in some black neck-brace get up. She looked as though she could pass out at any second. Then a performance which included her body being covered in fake blood. A blood red vale covering her head, with horns visibly protruding from the top of her head(HOW THE FUCK COULD SHE SEE?). And finally a birds nest/lion's mane on her face(Retarded). I expected more from the host Russell Brand, who has better displays of talent in the film, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and his several stand-up specials, which can be found on YOUTUBE. Katy Perry looked fucking sexy, as usual. Otherwise, I could really care less who won what award, as I have become disconnected from most of today's mainstream music. With all that said, Fuck MTV (show more videos) and Fuck the VMAS.

The Red Light Horror

Yesterday I had speakers plugged into my Macbook Pro so I could blast music. I plugged them out when I was done and closed my Macbook, thinking nothing of it. But this morning when I opened my Mac, there was a strange red glow coming from my headphone jack and I had no sound coming from my speakers. I almost panicked, but I quickly Googled the problem and found a solution. Apparently when high definition speakers are plugged into the jack, it causes some compensative reaction; which sometimes is not reversed when the speakers are plugged out. The solution is to find a toothpick, paperclip or hairpin, then delicately wiggle it around in the jack until the light turns off. I assure you, if this is done right, no damage will be caused. I have my sound back and headphones or speakers still work if plugged in.

Ghosts and Stuff

Yes, today is a rainy and gloomy Friday. One I have spent downloading new music. And appropriately so because regardless of the weather, one must still go out tonight to drink and dance. Here's several of my favorite tracks downloaded today. (click the song to download)
